God is our place of safety, He is our strength. He is present to help. Psalm 46. (I have made these few words my own.)
These tulip petals didn’t blow away. All three plants kept their “heads” and became strong distinctive shapes, each with a structure creating a visually impactful presence. They are not large in size or prominent as is expected of an architectural plant, for example, the cardoon, but could we call them architectural heads? Perhaps, until they go, but everything has its time and goes.

Let us travel with the word architecture:
‘Architecture /(We)should speak of (our) / its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.’
Frank Gehry / (Sandy)
‘ We shape our buildings (thoughts); thereafter, they shape us.’
Winston Churchill / (Sandy)
And
‘Every great architect is – necessarily – a great poet. They must be a great interpreter of their time, their day, their age.’
Frank Lloyd Wright. ( Sandy changed he to they and their.)
So then, architectural plants create a sense of grandeur rather than vibrant colour, but it is as Antoni Gaudi said : ‘ colour in certain places has the great value of making the outlines and structural planes seem more energetic.’ Sandy says for the garden too.
It seems really cold today between 10ºC and 13⁰C . We had a wonderful week of 20-27⁰C so that is why we feel so cold.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
