Lady’s smock and the blue bells

God speaking through Jeremiah: ‘ I(God) know the thoughts that I think about you, thoughts of peace, and not of evil.’ Jeremiah 29 :11

‘The trials that test our faith most severely and make it seem that God has forsaken us, are to lead us closer to Christ, so that we may lay all of them at His feet and experience the peace which He will give us in exchange.’

EG White.

There is a boggy area just before the bluebell woods, one I couldn’t ignore for like paper carried by the wind white was dotted here and there between yellow grasses going green.

They were four petal Lady’s smocks/cuckoo flower/mayflower/milkmaid. One of those names may be the name you give it.

It isn’t white but pale violet pink.

Cardamine pratensis /
Lady’s smock…
The boggy area favours its growth.

The woods are a short way ahead. Let us look inside.

The distinctive smell of the bluebells does not hang in the air yet. They are mostly still in bud.

The trees are mostly green except for a few…
Notice, there is a ribbon of blue. These are growing outside the woods.
What is extravagant?
Lacking in restraint, excessive, elaborate!
Can one have extravagant simplicity?
Are the bluebells and Lady's smock extravagantly simple?
Do they really use too much of something?
No, they are monitored by the simplicity of giving back!
Do we need this?

Yes
The balance of nature depends on the insects
And our very existence through the food we eat

Extravagant simplicity,really?!
These small flowers.

Travel a while with the word extravagant:

‘ A miser grows rich by seemingly to be poor, and an extravagant person grows poor by seemingly rich.’

William Shenstone

And quite differently…

‘ Open yourself ( this Easter to Jesus’s) extreme, excessive, extravagant grace.’

Is grace extravagant, or do we make it that way? There are always questions.

Bo Sanchez

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

  1. Some interesting thoughts and questions. I used to be a lot more sure of the answers where I was young..
Now I am far less presumptuous… Trust him more but I hopefully one day I will find out when I meet Him. Have a good Easter weekend.✨✝️✨
