The tulips are in the rain this morning. They need to be recorded as they, too, will soon have their time as the daffidols had theirs.

Spring 2024 their were many.
The metal cupboard that we turned into a planter during covid had a most amazing display of double tulips last spring. They were gifted bulbs, and I knew not all of them would bloom again this spring.

It is said that when the bulb is weak or worn out, the leaves grow large. The thinner leaves in Ruth, the potter’s jug, do belong to the double tulip.
Here is one of two quotes with the words worn, and then I will share something that may need us to fasten our seat belts.
‘ A stair not worn hollow by footsteps is, regarded from its point of view, only a boring something made of wood’
Franz Kafka
Now, continuing with Peter, the fisherman, who had a scribe with excellent Greek. Here are some strong words.
Peter speaking: ‘ By the word of God… the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished (the flood at the time of Noah) : but the heavens and the earth, which are now , by the same word are kept in store (reserved) for fire, utter ruin…’
But our response to this:
Peter speaking: ‘ There will come in the last days scoffers, walking in lust, and saying:
‘ Where is the promise of His (Jesus) second coming? For all things have continued since the father’s fell asleep and even since the beginning.’
Then Paul writing to Timothy has something to say on the topic.
Paul speaking: ‘ In the last days perilous times will come.’ He then gives a list of sins that will be found among us who have a form of godliness. 2 Timothy 3:1
And then Peter says this:
‘ The day of the Lord will come… the elements will melt with fervent heat and the earth, and the works that are there will be burned up.’
Peter, the fisherman, took the call from Jesus to become a fisher of people, and he didn’t mince his words.
Here is the second quote, and if you would like to hear this poet read his own poem, press on his name.
‘Art is like baby shoes. When you coat them with gold, they can no longer be worn‘
John Updike reads ‘ Time’s Fool.’
We need some rain sometimes.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
