Isaiah speaking from a time well known in Near Eastern history, spanning the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz:
‘ For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon everyone that is proud and lofty and everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low.’ Isaiah 2:12
Now Zephaniah ( 640-609B.C.)
‘ Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgement; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.’ Zephaniah 2 :3
If Zephaniah makes you afraid, it is because he wants you to seek right living and patient restraint.

Let’s look at these more closely from bud, to partially open, to fully open:

If you follow my blog, it was the group of daffidols closest to my lens that opened first. Today, all the groups have blooms.

When we travel, I have been fascinated to see how, at the press of a button, new motor homes release levelling supports on uneven ground. I was then reading about the crocus corms and how they have fibrous roots and contractile roots that adjust the corms’ depth in the soil, which may be pulled as deep as 20cm/ 8in into the soil or brought up closer to the surface. Their cells expand or contract, helping the flower, which has no visible lower stem, to be at the right level.
Very close to the crocus, growing in the grass was the purple dead nettle. I smiled at this complex description of its small flower:
‘ The zygomorphic flowers are bright red- purple, with a top hood, two lower lip petal lobes and minute fang – like lobes between. The corolla shows a line of hairs near the base of the tube. They bloom throughout the year in mild weather.’

in a small glass of water.
We will travel with the word “adjust “:
‘ Success comes from repeated efforts day in and day out. You learn from your mistakes, make adjustments, and continue pressing forward until you achieve the results you desire.’
Zig Ziglar
‘ The smallest change in perspective can transform a life. What tiny attitude adjustment might turn your world around?’
Oprah Winfrey
‘ When truth presents itself, the wise person sees the light, takes it in, and makes adjustments. The fool tries to adjust the truth so they don’t have to adjust to it.’
Henry Cloud .What an interesting name ‘Dr Cloud‘ I was then fascinated to hear him speak. If you want to listen a while, press on his name.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
💛🌾💛 I am still looking for my first one here!
Ah, ours will be over, and yours will be fine! Have a good day, Donna.
I love your crocus! Sadly, none of mine came up this year or last year. I haven’t replaced them yet. My dogs were digging the area where I grew them.
I am sorry. Perhaps they will be up next year. I have fewer this year, but they are bright and cheery.
Beautiful♥ Spring is here.
The crocuses in my garden bloomed but the daffodils have not. I’m waiting for them.
Spring is very special even when it is so cold!
