A barrel full and leaking

Lots of rain today.
A barrel full collected over time.
The cracked and leaking one.

There has been time to think today.  No walking in the cold and rain.

One seventh of seventy-two years ( the length of time my mother lived) is about ten years.  Then I thought ten years to give God thanks for His loving kindness.  The ten years spread out in the form of one day a week. One day a week to be present in His presence . As He was in the presence of humanity a long time ago.

…’ and another Sabbath he went and taught and their question was ” What wisdom is this which is given to Him?” Mark 6 : 2 (my summary)

…’ and Jesus on the Sabbath entered the synagogue and taught, and they were astonished at His doctrine for He taught them as one that had authority not as the Scribes..Mark 1:21,22

… and Jesus was teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath and said, ” Woman, you are healed. “… Luke13 :10

So when does this day begin and end? The seventh of a lifetime. From sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday. ( When we were in Scandinavia, we had Sabbath from when we went to sleep on Friday evening until we went to sleep on Saturday night. )

God’s loving kindness is so precious it is easy to see it appreciated in the Psalms . Psalms 92 is the Sabbath Psalm. Not doing your daily work but resting gives restoration. My mum was a nurse, and her duties continued Sabbath or no Sabbath. Care for people in need was always part of Jesus’ worship, Sabbath, or no Sabbath. Remember this: not all  hurts are visible !

‘So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from His work as God did from His.’

Hebrews 4: 9,10

works: daily work earning a living, and / or working for our own salvation, which is by faith a gift.

A barrel full and leaking and a Sabbath thinking.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
