Our church this Sabbath had an empty space.
The empty space was wide and long with daisies and a lone stork in the foreground.
A little further back were reeds and an outline of sheds.
BUT
To all intent and purpose, it was vacant land.
The church had us who sang and prayed. The preacher said a church is for praying for that is when we are together.
Preaching, I guess, is lonely!
Another during the Bible study time said: I guess you know
John 3:16
but read
1 John 3: 16 directly afterwards.
I did as soon as I was alone. It is a thought-provoking coincidence.
Back to the vacant land and let’s travel with some thoughts I found.
‘ I don’t think you can ever fill the empty space with the thing you lost’.
John Green
‘ Into the void of silence, into the empty space of nothing, the joy of life is unfurled.’
C.S. Lewis
And
‘Thirty spokes meet in the hub, but the empty space between them is the essence of the wheel.
Pots are formed from clay, but the empty space within it is the essence of the pot.
Walls with windows and doors form the house, but the empty space within it is the essence of the home.’
Laozi

over the vacant land.
We need space to think beyond ourselves.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
A very true and relevant fact Sandy What beautiful clouds and space for Sabbath
Thank you. I agree. God makes space in time for us , He and us, the Holy Spirit, quiet comforter, and sharer, need this Sabbath space.
