Lagos

David speaking: ( this is interesting that the Psalms were probably written over a period of 1,000 years, beginning with Moses and ending with Jannaeus 78 BC)

Psalm 24:1

‘ The earth is the Lord’s , and the fulness of it, the world, and all of us who live in it.’ Psalm 24 :1

And then, with three quotes for me this new year, 2025, travelling with the word walls:

‘ The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keep out the joy.’

Jim Rohn

‘ A person can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, darkness on the walls of his cell.’

C. S. Lewis

‘ The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenements’ walls and whispered in the sounds of silence.’

Paul Simon

A visit to Lagos

Here is what is said about this town in Portugals Algarve region:

Walled old town

Atlantic beaches

Steep wooden steps

Headland views and a light house.  ( I didn’t notice this light house, but that is me!)

Let us see if we find these. We visited the town before and after Christmas so I wasn’t there today! I have gotten behind in my posting.

Then, not on the list we started with was a plant. Many stopped to look at. It was growing on a tumbling cliff with enormous buds and flowers.

A little time for enjoyment of this Hawaiian Lilly and bud
as well as the cliffs .
One in watercolour the other in acrylic.
Both on the striped dish cloth that hangs at the door.
Much appreciated outing in a delightful town full of sunshine with a chilly wind.
Always have a windbreaker and another layer.

I pray we will all have a good 2025!

Take care,

Sandy.
