Aveiro

Paul speaking: ‘ I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.’

We will walk a while  along the sea further south of Aveiro and then through the streets of this little city.

Wave patterns in the sand

Will my life be a wave pattern?
The sea comes in
I come in
The sea goes out
I go!
Waves draw dark lines on the sand.
On the shore for us to see drawn with foam or small stones
A pattern for a while and then gone!
Drift wood held in tree form still.
Is my life a wave pattern?
A pattern left for who?
You?
No!
My children?
For a while till they find the challenge moves to memory out!

My writing left on a shelf.
A thought, a poem!
Ah,yes! Painting, poetry, and stories get left behind.

ART gets left behind!
Earth's art lies drawn on the shores of time.

A wave drawing?

Aveiro

We are still in the North of Portugal on the West Coast. Aveiro is distinguished by its canals navigated by colourful boats that were traditionally used to harvest seaweed. Let us look at a significant bridge, a museum, and some street scenes.

A traditional boat going under the Ponte do Laço,
a steel pedestrian bridge opened to the public in
May 2006.

This bridge was designed by Luis Viegas and Domingos Moreira. It is supported in three margins and suspended by a mast. It enables one to walk above the Canal de São Roque and the Canal dos Botirões, two channels of the Aveiro Lagoon.

The city is known for its art nouveau buildings with well patronised squares and cafés.

Chestnuts roasting ,
lights for Christmas hanging
people talking , walking.
A good place to be.

Let’s look at some details for us at the Muser de Aveiro.

Now for some street scenes, it is getting a little dark being early December –  5:30 is that in-between time.

Thank you for being with us for a while in Portugal.
