Waves breaking
The stretching up of the waters
Veins, arteries white against green- grey- blue
Filling and holding
The power intense
Thunder breaks venules,capillaries explode
Zillions of droplets are milky white on a yellow beach of sand.

Let’s travel with the word sabbath
Six days you will gather manna but on the Seventh Day, which is the Sabbath, on it there will be none.
Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy. For God made the heavens, the earth ,the sea, and everything in them and rested the Seventh Day.
In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdelene and the other Mary to see the place where Jesus was buried and, behold there was a great earthquake for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone… Jesus had risen from the grave.
How wonderful to know that this same Jesus will return.
Travel
This amazing beach front has wildlife and plants well protected with a pleasant-to-walk-on board walk.
Here are a few scenes:

We saw birds on the shore busy opening shells. I wondered when and where these birds slept. Here is what I found.
Birds don’t usually sleep in nests unless they are incubating eggs or rearing young. Shorebirds sleep on isolated sandbars, abandoned docks, marshes, estuaries, and other areas.
Seagulls make depressions in the ground, and Manx Shearwaters can take brief naps while flying.
Here are a couple of photographs at a fresh water in let with masses of clams that birds had been feasting on.

This walk is well loved by locals and long-distance, back packer walkers, some with their poles. It stretches for miles along the coast.
‘ Waves breaking.’
Our Porto Church this Sabbath was filled with joyful singing. A young person translated and added :
” I came to live here from Brazil, and being all alone, these people were my family. “

‘Sit in reverie and watch the changing colour of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.’
Henry Wordsworth Longfellow

Portugal is warm in the first week of December 2024, about 20C. I guess this may be true as we go south.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
Thank you for including the video clip! Very peaceful to watch the waves…
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It was lovely to walk so close to the power of the sea.
Thank you for this moment of sabbath respite!
Yes, God blessed are our Sabbaths. I’m glad you have been with us on some our days. Portugal has some pleasant surprises. Hope Thanksgiving was good for you.
