A day lily

Whereas you know not what will be tomorrow.

For what is life?

It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

For who knows what is good for a person in this life, all the days of their vain life which they spend as a shadow? For who can tell a person what shall be after them under the sun?

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.

James 4:14, Ecclesiastes 6:12, Psalm 90:12

Yesterday I received sad news. A young ex- colleague’s mother passed. A brain hemorrhage took a lively person in her fifties.

I am sad.

Her family moved around her as their centre. Her spiritual warmth, wise guidance, and love were all theirs.

We are sad.

18:48 pm, yesterday.
A double day, Lily.

Ben Jonson (1572 - 1637)

It is not growing like a tree
In bulk,doth make man better be;
Or standing long an oak, three hundred year,
To fall a log at last, dry, bald, and sere:
A lily of a day
Is fairer far in May,(July)
Although it fall and die that night,
It was the plant and flower of light.
In small proportions we just beauties see,
And in short measures
life may perfect be.

Ben Jonson is regarded as one of the major poets of the seventeenth century.
5:24 am, today.
Goodbye .

Behold I come quickly; and my reward us with me, to give every person according as his work shall be. Revelations 22 : 12

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelations 4 : 11

Today, I sat with the closed day lily and painted the open one.

I am sad.

Take care,
