Farewell to  the Arctic

As Adam and Eve were banished from Eden for transgressing the law of God, so Christ suffered outside the gates of Jerusalem for everyone. There He carried the penalty that should have fallen on the sinner. ” Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.” Galations 3: 13-14

Our free choice is to accept this or reject it. God does not manipulate or give you what you refuse  CHOOSE TODAY who you will serve: the God of heaven or gods of your own making. Joshua 24: 14-16  You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

I want to start with a story, a famous name, and a quote from him.

He was an American playwright and screenwriter. He was very close to his sister Rosa. Rosa was diagnosed with schizophrenia and after a labotanny was hospitalised. He remained close to her , and as soon as he could, he gave her a percentage of the interest on several of his successful plays. This meant she could receive better care. He, however, with the heavy sadness, turned to alcohol, phetamins, and barbiturates.

His name  is Tennessee Williams 1911 – 1983

This is what he said: ” Luxury is the wolf at the door, and its fangs are the vanities and conceits germinated by success. When an artist learns this, he knows where the danger is.”

Here are four photographs taken in quick succession travelling close to where we leave the Arctic Circle.

The trees are becoming stronger and more abundant.

A sign post to say where we leave/enter the Arctic circle

The day is very warm 24 degrees with a warm wind. Many of us are eating ice cream.

I leave this lovely place with a mug of road side Arctic flowers (I googled permission) and a painting of a wind swept silver birch.

A Loften mug with buttercups and others…
My appreciation of these wind swept weathered trees the first to push the tree line higher in the Arctic. Animals and birds appreciate them while they are never too thick to let other plants grow.
They are a warning that our Earth is getting warmer.

Some farewell quotes:

No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth.

Robert Southey

Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.

Gildas Radner.

It is farewell to the Arctic. Thankyou to those who have been with us in this precious place.

Take care,

Sandy  🙂
