Joseph of Arimathea, a counsellor who had not agreed to Jesus’ death begged for His body. He took Jesus’ body down and gently laid Him on a rock bed surrounded by rock, a cave. The Sabbath was drawing in and the women followed to see where this place was and how they laid His body down. They then returned to make spices and ointments and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment. Jesus was all alone until the first day of the week.
