Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in You all day long.
Psalm 25 : 4-5.

Walking with deer running ahead.
Too far away for me to capture.

Sticky and slow as we walk on the side.

Turville Hill in the distance is a site of Special Scientific Importance, and if you press on the photograph, you will see a cobstone, windmill built in 1816 to grind cereal and working till 1873.
The mill and cottage were bought by Hayley Mills and her first husband Roy Boulting in 1971. They carried out an extensive conversion and remodelling of the interiors to make it comfortable to live in.
Here are two quotes from Hayley Mills
Do I think I am under educated? Academically, absolutely. I never took any exams , no O – or A- levels.
I like solitary pursuits such as reading or pottering in the garden.

Here is a story about Ellen Sadler. She was eleven years old when she went to sleep. The strange thing is that they say she woke up nine years later. She was known as the “Sleeping Girl of Turville.” Then, on a post, as you enter into the church yard, there is this plaque.

Silently, softly almost reverently waiting…

My own brain is to me the most unaccountable of machinery- always buzzing, humming, soaring, roaring, diving, and then buried in mud. And why? What’s this passion for?

We experienced the driest February since 1959 last year, 2023, and now we wait to see how many records for rain are broken in February 2024.
Take care and enjoy the week ahead.

Love your photograph of the painting then of the real place. Fascinating. Hayley Mills – that brings back memories. Pollyanna, Flame Trees off Thika and that twin movie.
Ah, I must remind myself of Pollyanna, and I don’t remember Flame Trees off Thika. Yes, I was fortunate to see that picture in a secluded place in the church. It is a quaint village.
Paths beckon me! 🙂
There is a variety of paths as the stone is white chalk and drains well while some areas are really muddy.
