Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Proverbs 18 : 21
Travel with me from poisonous and invasive to some music that made me smile.
The Italian Arum plant is growing where all the new bulb shoots are coming through. The leaves are exotic, but I will resist spending time painting them. I don’t much want to spend time with them in the garden either. Careful when you work with it, my skin burnt where it got between my fingers. Here are some things said about poison:

Good humour is the health of the soul, sadness is its poison.
Laughter relieves us of superfluous energy, which , if it remained unused, might become negative, that is poison. Laughter is the antidote.
Philip Stanhope George Gurdjieff

Unforgiveness / Resentment is like drinking poison yourself and waiting for the other person to die.
Marianne Williamson /Saint Augustine

Look at the detail of honeycomb round the bottom.
Lastly, here is something from Frédéric Chopin 1810 – 1849
I wish I could throw off thoughts which poison my happiness, but I take a kind of pleasure in indulging them.
Frederic Chopin was a Polish Composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic period who wrote primarily for solo piano. After a failed engagement, he was heartbroken, kept Maria Wodzinska’s letters in his desk drawer, and was never engaged again. For most of his life, he was in poor health and died aged 39.
Here is a link to a piece which his father, Nicolas, made a copy of.
Polonaise in B flat major 1817
Then here is one that is so well known you may not even give it a thought. I followed it because I liked to see the smoke ,movement of light, and fingers of the hands moving. Childlike or childish one may say or a memory of early morning practises with the sun coming up from the darkness of an African sky with my sister playing it.
Chopin – Nocturne op 9 No 2 (E flat)
Thank you .
Sandy 🙂
The leaves are interesting, but scary if they are poisonous! Careful, Sandy.
I guess I could leave them alone if they don’t bother the bulbs. 🤣
Wow Sandy. Did you also play the piano as well. What a sad tale of that composer. Nevertheless his music was a gift to the world. ❤️
I learnt to play but was not as successful as my sister, so gave up happily. I had speech lessons instead. People who have left such beauty in the world seem so often to have had a heavy share of sadness.
Indeed. It’s learning how to turn the sadness to beauty and also allowing God to give us beauty for ashes. How sad when they struggle to enjoy the beauty within themselves. Only a relationship with God can truly transform a difficult story into a testimony. ❤️😊
Hadn’t thought of that.
😊💗
What superbly beautiful leaves! Interesting story. So much truth.
I think I must have been quite annoying so early in the morning. Sorry😬🙃…
No, never annoying. I was doing stuff, too, and it was good to have someone evidently up.🤣 Those leaves are amazing.
The leaves’ patterns and coloring are stunning!
For a plant that grows with such vigour, it is special in looks. It seems to last well in the jar too.
Lovely post. tx much for visiting my site. I love anything to do with books & would be thrilled if you’d write a guest blog post for my site, which is for anyone who enjoys writing, or books, and all the arts. If you think it might be fun or helpful to have my followers (who total about 10k across my various social media) meet you, here’s the link for general guidelines: https://wp.me/p6OZAy-1eQ – best, da-AL
Hi da-AL,
How lovely this all sounds. I guess you need to know my husband and I are retired people. I am quite shy and not great, rather bad, at handling internet/tech/etc. 😅 I really don’t know how I got to blog. Hence my very long name sandyroybessbugsy etc . When asked for different information, I didn’t understand the jargon. Then when I started blogging we were travelling through France. I didn’t even know people could message you at the bottom.
So I’m more than happy to try, but, ‘try’ is the operative word.
Sandy 🙂
I admire your perseverance 😊 if you have any questions please email me at contactdaal@gmail.com
Thank you. I will. 😊
