Dinnington South Yorkshire

The Lion Pub in the morning.
Dog friendly and a very comfortable stay.

The day is grey, and the temperature has dropped. Travelling north yesterday, the fields around the Trent River (Press on this to get an idea) were flooded, and both travelling there and back on the motorway, we were in fading light.

I guess you know how my posts travel. My word was flood. Here is a thought-provoking quote.

The single raindrop never feels responsible for the flood.

Douglas Adams 1952 – 2001 English author, humorist, and screenwriter.

Douglas Adams, I see how apt this quote is. I chose it because it spoke to me. Here, our road divides. We are so different.

I choose God as creator

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained…Man You made a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honour…You made people to take care of all the animals…The righteous know about the needs of their animals but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.

Psalm 8: 3-4, Proverbs 12:10

Douglas Adams chose not to believe in any God. He called himself a “radical atheist.” I found his talk interesting a road he chose to follow. Press on his name to hear him speak.

Personally, my faith and belief in God is not a topic up for argument or proof. My choice to believe is simple, clearly divinely gifted through a relationship in salvation through Jesus. My source of belief is the Bible, which clearly shows we should take care of the world. Here is a fellow blogger, Hannah Padilla, who has put together 24 Bible verses about taking care of the Earth.

Ah, this post travelled away with the floods we are experiencing. Here in the Thames area, there is flooding both in Henley and Marlow, places I have recently visited on “roads we travel.”

Now, back to Diddington. Look into this church photograph…

Look at the pink banner.

Then turn the corner of this South Yorkshire town.

Take care,

What need the bridge much broader than the flood?

    1. Ah, he had an interesting start in life. Only spoke at the age of five, hated writing but wrote a lot. Was very self conscious at age twelve because he was already 6 foot tall. Died unexpectedly after a gym work out at forty- nine.
