2 stalks of variegated Holly and some roses

We shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God…they (us) will get joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing will rush away…

The wilderness and the solitary place will be glad for God, and the desert will bloom like a rose…

Isaiah 35 : 2(last part )then 10 (last part) and Isaiah 35 :1. Sandy’s way of putting it together.

Some roses from my son.

It was nearly 10 pm with two lights on in the room.
The roses looked their softest.
Ruby red, red and pink
with their stems supported in twists of ivy.
Put into a tall vase from the glass cube, the red roses alone are
sophisticated with the prickly variegated holly.

Here are some words that describe Holly:

Evergreen

Wind proof

Hardy

Long lived

Impenetrable

Tolerant of full sun and very deep shade

Nutritious (It has been observed that animals gnaw the branches, let them fall, lie on the ground till brown, and come back and eat them.)

The holly leaf, its serated edge in creamy white, gives the softness of the rose petals a voice. What it says is for you to decide. The other roses separated out , made a posy of a friendly, gracious type.

Glass jug of roses.

Some don’t know that England’s symbol is a red rose. It is also our most favourite flower. The next nine in this order are: lilies, tulips, daffidols, sunflowers, orchids, carnations, bluebells, freesias, and poppies.

We all know roses say love and it starts with ourselves. Here are a few thoughts:

Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are. Unknown

It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see people looking ridiculous that you realise just how much you love them.

Agatha Christy

Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time.

Mayo Angelou

Here is a dodoitsu I wrote for Rebecca’s monthly poem contribution. All this love is because my son brought these lovely roses home. A loved gift and certainly not from the wet garden.

My dodoitsu 7syllables x 3 lines and 1 x 5 syllables.

Do I say and he doesn't say
Does he say and I do not
Let us say together.What?
I think I love you!

Thank you for looking at my 2 stalks of variegated holly and roses post.

  1. Lucky Mother and a good son to bring you such beautiful roses! Hope they keep for a long time and you feel the love for a long time too 🌹🌹I do like your arrangements very much Sandy x

    1. The roses with so much love mean a lot when there is so much difficulty in making peace agreements / any agreements, for that matter. Another topic, I guess. Take care, Mary, and have a good day.
