Englefield green 3-mile circular walk

The Lord is near the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Psalm 34 : 18

A mixed emotion walk:

Tall poplars far away ,
soggy ground under foot
come with us
our emotions may change as we walk.

Down a muddy root crossed path.

Then, along some paved roads…
Today, the sun shines through a memorial to 20,000 airmen and women lost in the Second World War.
It is regretful that the world still kills rather than talks
People? Us? Never!
A quiet place to worship in the central area of the memorial.
On the gallery window is a poem written by Paul H. Scott. Here is the last line:

As the mists rise up and the air grows dark

That we may wear

As brave a heart as they.

Paul H. Scott
Through the window panes a view towards the Thames
Let us walk through a flooded area to see how all our rain has increased its flow.
A flooded area along the footpath

We believe that the farm should be building ‘forgiveness’ into the ecosystem. What does that mean? That a more forgiving ecosystem is one that can better handle drought, flood disease, pestilence.

Joel Salatin ( an American farmer, lecturer and author.)
The Thames after storm Ciaran.

It is easy to smile with the sun on our backs, the sky blue with fluffy white clouds and none other than a willow twister’s sculpture of a bird.

The sun , the sky
Why this moody sadness

Beautiful twisted willow work
A bird taking flight!

Then further along and up a path...
Let us walk a little way and follow a sign to a 7 tonne block of Portland stone.

Why is it here? Runnymede, where we are walking, is known for being the place when in 1215 the Magna Carta was signed. The Magna Carta enshrines basic freedoms in English law and the American Constitution lines with this. Look closely. I have typed the quote.

Let every nation know whether it wishes us well or ill that we shall pay any price bear any burden meet any hardship support any friend or oppose any foe in order to assure the survival and success of liberty.

John F. Kennedy

Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Thank you for walking with us.

Sandy 🙂😔
