I was fascinated by this modern version of what Solomon said: ” The person who tells one side of a story seems right, until someone else asks questions.”
Proverbs 18: 17 NCV

If I hadn’t been travelling , I would have noticed that the salad burnet was becoming extravagant. It is supposed to like rich soil and plenty of water. Well, little plants are now growing in gravel wherever the seed has fallen with water in abundance. The two main clumps are enormous. Here is what they say you can do with it:
The leaves ,if mashed, can stop bleeding.
Leaf tea will stop diarrhoea.
Tender new leaves can be eaten in salads, soups, and vinegars. Tastes like cucumber.
This abundant plant contains vitamin C, B, and A, as well as calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium.

It even makes a good shape in a vase. Looking more closely in the morning light and taken away from the large numbers, the leaflets have charm with their serated edges and attached to stalks that have taken shape to give them space and light.

There is a ‘ this side’ and a change of green for ‘that side.’ Bright green and shiny with the rain drops, then soft green with a dry and sheltered look. I guess one could say it takes both sides to make a leaf. Here are some more thoughts of a different nature about two sides.
Success and failure are two edges of the same blade, two sides of the same coin. To fear one is to forever deny the possibility of the other.
Michelle Sagara
There’s always two sides to the coin if you have the patience to see.
Beware of the half truth, you might have got hold of the wrong half.
Terry Goodkind and a little off track an unknown.
Now something said by two people:
” Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by the traffic on both sides.”
MARGARET THATCHER Prime Minister of the United Kingdom 1979- 1990.
GEORGE P SHULTZ American diplomat and Statesman.
On a rainy day like this, I am reminded of my mum singing at the top of her voice, “I am singing in the rain.” It was a special time in Rhodesia when it was hot and it started to rain. Here it has just rained or will rain…we are truly wet, wet.
Have a good day.
Sandy 🙂
