Skye

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 ( Just as it is with no simplification by me .)

A smooth tar road well – marked in white. No passing here, double lines for another bend after hundreds, but there in the distance, we will go over the bridge to Skye. Press on the picture and see a large arched bridge.

Once over the bridge, the landscape seems wider, and rivers run freely with viewing places more often. A waterfall here, a mountain with steep sides there. We have come from the northwest coast of Scotland it is more rugged and mysterious here on the Isle of Skye. There is 1,656 km of Heather and grassy clad Hills with rivers and lochs in low lying parts some fresh and others tidal and sea filled.

The largest town is Portree. It is interesting to notice that the sound of voices is of the American accent.

Today will be the last time for this season that at 8pm the pipers will march down Bank Street. When they did it was proudly announced that a grandfather and his six- year old grandson would lead the band in their march. An intensely proud moment for both. A legacy.

Leaving Portree with its bright pink blue and yellow houses along the waters edge and well proportioned bay with cruise ship. We park up where the night is dark with two other travelling vans.

The next morning, the mood of the wide open spaces has changed from bright sun and greens to wind, rain, and grey.

The sea and sky meet with Isle of Skye slipping into both sky and sea with a slightly different shade of grey. We are going over the sea back to the mainland. This time to Mallaig from Armadale.

Here is my time spent with a paint brush. A view from a park up on the Isle of Skye.

A pleasant time.

Thank you for joining us for a while.

Sandy 🙂
