Mount Olympus

God gave Jesus encouragement before He went to the cross and this is part of it. Jesus with His friends Peter, James and John went to Mount Tabor and there God said with a bright cloud covering them : ” This is my Son , whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him.”

Matthew 17:5 ( The whole chapter tells of an interesting event that God organised for His Son and a few friends.)
Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges.
The highest peak,
Mytikas, ( nose) is 2 ,917m.

This area has been a national park since 1938 . It is also a World Biosphere Reserve.

The refuge at this height sells bean soup, goat’s soup and a few other Greek dishes .

This is a very small section of the 17km of road on the eastern side. I took this coming down.

It was in this landscape that the Greeks had their twelve gods live. Here Zeus fought Cronus and the Titans and after winning, settled in these mountains and became lord of all the gods, demi gods and humans.

This is how Henri Frederic Amiel (1821-1881) a Swiss moral philosopher, poet and critic pictured the soul of Mozart’s music as living in the “etherial peaks” of Olympus .

Mozart has the classic purity of light and the blue ocean;

Beethoven the romantic grandeur which belongs to the storms of air and sea,

and while the soul of Mozart seems to dwell on the ethereal peaks of Olympus,

that of Beethoven climbs shuddering the storm – beaten sides of a Sinai..

Each represents…..life…

A fox looking unwell on the slopes of Olympus.
What to do ? Report it? Try to help it? How?
Life always has a practical what to do question especially for the wild and untamed.

Thank you for letting me share. This world Earth is a beautiful place.
