May I use the word a juxtaposition or not?
Here is a definition of juxtaposition : the fact of two things being seen close together with contrasting effect.
Texture contrast (smooth versus rough) Edge contrast (serated and straight)
” I’m always trying to find ‘connections’ between things . That art is the juxtaposition of a lot of things that seem unrelated but add up to something recognizable. ”
Pat Metheny is an American musician, composer, producer and professor. His family were musicians but thought little of the guitar. They then allowed him to have one at 12 years of age and the rest is an amazing story.
You can listen to Last Train Home if you like. Metheny once said this about playing this tune:
One thing that is interesting about the tune of Last Train Home, from my perspective, is that it probably is one of the hardest tunes in our book to improvise on – and in that particular case, it is not an easy thing to do night after night.”

Yes, I was happy with the punch bowl. I like shorter stems sometimes. Yes I really liked the music’s reminder of our childhood journeys on the steam trains.
