There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off…..be joyful in hope, patient in affliction , and faithful in prayer.

“I love planting bulbs. It is making promises with tomorrow, believing in next year and the future.”

When the world wearies and society fails to satisfy, there is always the garden.
Minnie Aumonier English Actor and writer 1866 – 1928. I found his life interesting. Here is a summery.
Minnie Aumonier married Gertrude Peppercorn. A year after their marriage he began writing and performing his own sketches. He had acute observation skills of people and this helped him to be so good as an actor that he received lavish praise. Unfortunately it is not known if any recordings exist, but theatre was the entrance to writing. Sadly in the mid 1920’s he developed tuberculosis a disease I have sympathy for. In my early years we lived on the grounds of an infectious disease hospital with the majority of patients experiencing the symptoms of tuberculosis. It was not so easily treated then. Aumonier says that he was sent to a hospital in Norfolk where a newspaper left next to his bed was damp in the morning. In 1927 he went to be treated in Switzerland but died there in 1928. He was 62.
I grow plants for many reasons:
to please my eye or
please my soul,
to challenge the elements or
to challenge my patience,
for novelty, for nostalgia, but mostly
for the joy in seeing them grow-

Thank you for looking at my post.

I do love plants and hope to be back in warmer temperatures one day and have the space to plant again. Bless you. ππΎβ€οΈππ

What an interesting story. Yes, watching things grow is extremely satisfying in so many ways. I look forward to seeing those tulips in the spring!
Thank you. Let us hope for the best.
Thanks for sharing. We bought some bulbs this year for the first time, and look forward to seeing them bloom in the spring!
Great!!! Something special for 2023.
I struggle sometimes with the concept of weeds. Many are so lovely. “A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival except for learning to grow in rows.”π
Yes , I know friends who make a space for them. Mine seem to do well anywhere and sometimes last too long.
Beautiful, Sandy.
Thank you, Jeff.
Thank you, Jeff.
How exciting, I am looking forward to your garden of tulips in bloom π
I am enjoying seeing your little turtle popping in on occasion, curious little gal! π If I come across my Grandmom’s blue turtle like yours, I am going to show it to you. You make me miss my silly little momento. π
That will be great to see the turtle when you come across it.π. I hope we see every single one of those 40 tulips. π€π€
