I was pulling these out yesterday to get the ground ready for the bulbs.

Well there was space for the bulbs today so all 40 went in.
Bulbs all laid out with a little order in spacing
to start their winter journey.
I wish them well and hope
that some will make it through uneaten by our greedy grey squirrels.

Minnie Aumonier English Actor and writer 1866 – 1928. I found his life interesting. Here is a summery.
Minnie Aumonier married Gertrude Peppercorn. A year after their marriage he began writing and performing his own sketches. He had acute observation skills of people and this helped him to be so good as an actor that he received lavish praise. Unfortunately it is not known if any recordings exist, but theatre was the entrance to writing. Sadly in the mid 1920’s he developed tuberculosis a disease I have sympathy for. In my early years we lived on the grounds of an infectious disease hospital with the majority of patients experiencing the symptoms of tuberculosis. It was not so easily treated then. Aumonier says that he was sent to a hospital in Norfolk where a newspaper left next to his bed was damp in the morning. In 1927 he went to be treated in Switzerland but died there in 1928. He was 62.

Yes , I know friends who make a space for them. Mine seem to do well anywhere and sometimes last too long.
