St. Paul had another name, Saul. That name was associated with persecuting the Christians. The people stoned Steven while Saul held their coats. He imprisoned and beat people in their synagogues .
This was until God blinded Saul with a bright light. Named him Paul and told him to get baptised now and wash away his sins calling on the name of the Lord. Then witness to everyone about what he had seen and heard.
