If we have on the heavenly armor, we will find that the assaults of the enemy will not have power over us.  Angels of God will be round about us to protect us.  The exact words are in Ephesians 6: 10 and onward.

The second cardoon broke at the place where the soil met the stem. I took off the flowers and left them out for the bees.
The fluffy yellow curry flowers have dried in the heat. I cut them all off today.
Yew that needs to be trimmed.

Greys Court

Looking at this house that has been a home since 1086  brings the past flooding into one’s imagination.  In 1969 the Brunner family  gave it  to the National Trust with the agreement that  Mrs Brunner continued to live in the house until her death. She past away  in 2003.  Her furniture in the house is mostly 17 th and early 18th century English furniture in mahogany, walnut and oak. It is all how she left it. A very homely comfortable  feel.

House

A comfortable lounge with big picture windows with window seats.
The dining room with a country feel.
A study area.
Going up the stairs to the bedrooms.
Their homely bedroom with pictures next to the bed and a carefully made patchwork quilt. Her choice.
This was painted by Mrs Brunner’s  brother. The lady holding the reigns of the horse has fluffy slippers on and the horse is laughing!!! A family joke.
There are 11 bedrooms. Mrs Brunner went to the railway station during the 2nd World War to bring home an evacuee.  She brought home ten children to join her four boys.

Garden

Ornate metal gates to an archway of wisteria said to be 15o years old.
Geraniums in red and white in a formal display.
The gardens were terribly dry but these colorful gems were lovely to see.

The National Trust is a charity which you can join as a member and then visit their properties without paying an entrance fee. Thank you for looking at my post I hope you liked this bit of old England.
