Grey with yellow and pink to purple.

And, behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every person according to how they have lived. I am Alpha and Omega , the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that used his commandments to live wisely, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Revelations 22:  12 – 14 (Sandy’s way of reading it.)
The colours of grey, yellow and pink to purple. The vase was bought at a car boot sale. I liked the hand painted flowers and black rim. It is from the Art Deco Period ( 1920 – 1939 )
Small yellow flowerheads in domed clusters with the name Itelichrysum italicum (curry plant)
Lamb’s – ear or woolly hedge nettle is native to Armenia, Iran and Turkey and belongs to the mint family.
The Itelichrysum itaicum as seen in our garden. It is an evergreen bushy plant with linear silver-grey,  curry – scented leaves.
Lamb’s- ear. Silver grey and soft as velvet.

As in nature so in art.

Grey was a particularly good background colour for gold and for skin tones. It became the most common background for the portraits of Rembrant van Rijn and for many of the portraits of El Greco, who used it to highlight the faces and costumes of central figures.

A picture I took of El Greco’s painting in Spain for our post while travelling there.

Either sin is with you , lying on your shoulders, or it is lying on Christ,  the Lamb of God.

Now if it is lying on your back, you are lost;

but if it is resting on Christ,

you are free,

and you will be saved.

Now choose what you want.

Martin Luther
