And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon , to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Revelations 21: 23
The market building is 100 years old but 1,000 years ago market stalls will have been set up near the city walls by Muslim traders. An example of glass work at the four entrances. The central dome at the ‘cross roads’ for the market. An example of a stall
Then there was street art…
Some street art that caught my eye.J . WARX says this about his work: ” The concept of my drawings is to satirize, to generate memes of an image or a current situation.”
“They make me laugh while I am doing them!”
” I do them in the moment. I have a good time….as soon as I don’t I will stop.”
In some ways I agree with J.WARX.
Then there is the six mile park. Thirty years ago there was a flood and so they diverted the river to go round the city. The now have a park made from a dry river bed 100 yards wide.
They are filling a vast, shallow disc with water to go under this old bridge.People enjoy cycling doing exercises in groups and relaxing.A garden where once a river flowed. Six miles of it going through the centre with lovely bridges and no water! The dry river cemented over and used for relaxation!!Celebrating a jacaranda against the sky. A joy for me.Jacaranda blossom falls so soon, here it falls onto bottle brush. Jacaranda trees and bottle brush in bloom. (They were so much part of my childhood garden , in a country where there weren’t any real seasons, these told us it was spring.)
Then there was various architecture and nicely made dresses. The narrowest flat! 107cm wide.Building on a circular design with a fountain in the middle. An example of many buildings with ornate balconies.Admirable doors opening to a Youth Hostel.White dresses for children carefully made.
The city as a center where, any day in any year, there may be a fresh encounter with a new talent, a keen mind or a gifted specialist – this is essential to the life of a country.

There is something about arriving in New cities, wandering empty streets with no destination. I will never lose the love for the arriving, but I’m born to leave.
So interesting! Some of those buildings look like they could be in Istanbul.
