Rebecca has asked us to write a poem of 14 lines. It is a give away what country I am in.

'My' Strange land
Needle leaves giving shade to
A fathomless sea melting into sky
Where is deepest thought?
Sand course but golden, round a castle wall,
Where has time gone? (sand in a timer/ or events in history)
Lavender, dog rose, broom
Hairy canary and golden fleece
From where and when?
People speaking words they understand
Eating p-ell- and t-rt-ll-
This is not my home
This is their home
I'm their stranger
In our beautiful world.
Sandy
Well done. Evocative. Like the timer bit.

Thank you Shelly. 🤗This was the second attempt. The first one was too sad but in my opinion better.

Thanks for the great mystery. I’m still donning my Sherlock’s cap. I have an idea but am not yet sure it’s right…

Oh Rebecca so glad you read my poem. I will soon see that lovely, exotic church with a light . Do you remember posting about it? I am in a country you love.
