Photinia leaves and flowers with buds at different stages

Angular jutting out bud stems some red some green. Then green leaves seen through the glass and reddish green above the water.

Day lily leaves. Wonderfully long and shiny a reminder of the plants that grew below my childhood bedroom window. Dad used to water them in the late afternoon making the air coming through the open windows cool and smelling of earth.

Bottle brush leaves. Roy shaped this tree/ bush and the leaf stalks have been blunted. I remember my dad doing this on our Famona hedge and we never had flowers for a year or two. Sad!
