Photinia in a glass and then some leaves

Photinia leaves and flowers with buds at different stages
Angular jutting out bud stems some red some green. Then green leaves seen through the glass and reddish green above the water.
Day lily leaves. Wonderfully long and shiny a reminder of the plants that grew below my childhood bedroom window. Dad used to water them in the late afternoon making the air coming through the open windows cool and smelling of earth.
Here are some puns for children:

3 E-leaf-ants are herbivores.
Bottle brush leaves. Roy shaped this tree/ bush and the leaf stalks have been blunted. I remember my dad doing this on our Famona hedge and we never had flowers for a year or two. Sad! 

Here are  a few children’s jokes.
1.  Why would a leaf go to the hospital? Because he was feeling green.
2.  How can one tree make itself heard to the other tree at the far end?
By amp – leaf – ication .
3 Where did the plant want to travel?
All clover the world.
Here are the oak leaves from my 5 – year old oaks.  Some expressions we use with leaf:
1 shake like a leaf
2 turn over a new leaf
3 leaf through
Box hedge leaves many new this spring.

Leaf me alone!  OR   Don’t leaf me!
OR  perhaps just beat around the bush!🤣
