Hops, Teasels and puffed up orange Zinnias

In the Word the Saviour is revealed in all His beauty and loveliness. Every soul will find comfort and consolation in the Bible, which is full of promises concerning what God will do for the one who comes into right relation to Him. Especially will the sick be comforted by hearing the Word; for in giving the Scriptures God has given to mankind a leaf from the tree of life, which is for the healing of the nations. How can anyone who reads the Scriptures or has heard them read, lose his interest in heavenly things, and find pleasure in amusements and enchantments of the world. E.G.White

The nature of the Holy Spirit is a mystery. It is not a conclusive evidence that a person is a Christian because he manifests spiritual ecstacy under extraordinary circumstances, Holiness is not rapture: it is an entire surrender of the will to God; it is living by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, it is doing the will of our heavenly Father; it is trusting God in trial, in darkness as well as light; it is walking by faith and not by sight, it is relying on God with unquestioning confidence, and resting in His love.

Different views of Zinnia all grown from one branching stalk. I planted the seed in the spring and it has been a joy to watch it grow.
Blooming among the wind fall apples in the garden.
Fully in bloom with small signs of weathering on the external petals.
Green hops, hanging down over the vessel, were picked on the roadside near our home. They were sprawling over a hedge in abundance. The shape of the copper coloured vessel is elegant and showing its age with the grey base metal showing through and dents of time and movement between places on its curved surfaces. This belonged to Roy’s parents and usually had artificial flowers in.
The Teasels aren’t growing in my garden. They were picked while out walking with our church walking group which meets each Saturday. The Teasels are still slightly green and because they can become invasive I will be careful where I leave them to dry. Teasels do not belong to the Thistle family.
