  • A packet of sunflower seeds
  • Grown too close together in a pot.
  • A minute sunflower
  • …and sadly another.
  • The large jug.
  • The little jug.
I hope I never plant sun flower seeds like this again. Too much to do and nature suffered. The markings for both jugs say Royal Dalton. They were both given to us by Mum Dorothy in the early years of our marriage.
Cutting back the marjoram so there is an even growth next year.
Marjoram has a mild sweet smell with a minty and woody note. Marjoram is one of the few herbs where its flavour intensifies when dried. It also combines well with other herbs like thyme and sage. Bess is enjoying this newly cut mound of Marjoram.
