Smoke tree, Spotted Laurel and long stemmed Calendulas

Today you are to give yourself to God, that you may be emptied of self, emptied of envy, jealousy, evil surmising, strife, everything that is dishonoring to God.

The colour of the round Smoke Tree leaves can be described as soft deep maroon/ reddish purple. In late summer it has clear pink plumes of flowers that are so light and wispy that they are like smoke hence the name. Also notice the sirated edge and delightful yellow fleck of the Japanese Aucuba.

The red vase had tulips in when it was given as a florist gift. It carries the colour of the smoke tree leaves down behind the bright green yellow fleck of the Japanese Aucuba.
The Calendula that have featured in a few of my blogs are now much taller and I am using them in a taller vase. I see there are some wonderful seed heads forming too. This was a mixed packet of seeds I bought, so I should choose carefully when I collect. I liked this mixed variety very much.

He who walks in the way of God’s commandments is walking in company with Christ, and in His love the heart is at rest.

  1. Love the leaves! And the Bible verse and E G White quote. Great blessing and lovely way to start my day. Thank you.
