An arch way/ a line of trees

This post first looks at God as infinite, I then remember some museum experiences where a famous artist grapples with infinity. I end with some ‘ thought poetry’ and two photographs of my own with a simple self expression of infinity.

Moses speaking: ‘Before the mountains were brought into existence, or even before You formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting you are God.’

Psalm 90:2

David speaking: ‘Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite.’

Psalm 147:5

He tells the numbers of the stars, he calls them by name.

And most importantly.

He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 147: 5,4,3 ( Sandy’s order but the whole Psalm in the right order is lovely. Isaiah 55: 8- 13 with God speaking is also some infinite thinking.)

Now look at this immersive environment it has the title Invisible life and is by the late Yayoi Kusama, we saw this installation in the Ludwyg Art Gallery in Cologne but it is now in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

The room has large tubular organic structures with each pipe covered in the signature rhythmic dot pattern.

Yayoi Kusama born 14th March 1929 sadly passed away 14th August 2026. Her illness was her inspiration for the work she did.

A couple of years earlier we were also privileged to enter in and experience her famous Infinity Mirrored Room with lights, while visiting the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. It is said that ‘helps one tap into a feeling of cosmic liberation and loss of physical boundaries.’

And now for an arch way of trees to infinity or a line of trees to end the view. Here they are: a cycle ride view in Berkshire where the leaves are gathered brown on the ground not from autumn but because of our heat waves and then a landscape view in Raesfeld Germany. The poppies there are allowed because they want to encourage insects.

We know the path has an end

We cycled it

And I stopped to take a photograph looking back

Looking back I saw infinity.

Look back on life

Do you see the road you travelled

Is it a path with an infinity?

OR

Are their paths to each side

‘ If I had I would have…’

Either way will it be straight back to the infinity of no consciousness when you were still split: a sperm and egg / egg and sperm?

Is that infinity?

Or is it further back?

God speaking: ‘Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you.’

Jeremiah 1:5

Then there is a line of trees and if you press on the photograph there is another field and another line of horizon trees that edge the sky. An ending or was that the beginning for in the foreground nature has spilled red poppies in the grass of summer long green and a place where there is yellow wheat. Is this a beginning with red poppies or is this the/an end?

David speaking to God:

‘ I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are what You do, and I know this well. My substance was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret… and in your book all my parts were written , when as yet there were none of them. How precious I am to You/ how precious are these thoughts to me.’

Psalm 139: 14-17 my summary read them for yourself.

Our Earth our world and Our God.

Take care,

Sandy

Ps

I had to paint and so I did. Infinity is not perfectly there but then in reality on this path it isn’t. I enjoyed the execution!
