A truncated vase with…

three bright pink hyacinths.

This spring I will soon be two years younger than my mother.

My sister will be five and a half years from her age.

How time sweeps us all in the direction of togetherness.

A white trancated cone vase with large spaces between the pink hyacinth blooms.

Each top flower of each stem a little different in weathering and age. Each flower stem with tortured willow twigs nearby. Each twig carrying new small leaves and catkins with that distinct spring florescent yellow- green that says ‘a lot of growing ahead’.

A significant composition as all have had change: the wind brought down the top thin branch from the tortured willow and the same wind bent the group of hyacinths to touch the ground. The vase can’t be a cone to be able to stand and hold the three hyacinth stems and the seven tortured willow twigs. And so we remember Mum and the love the three of us shared with all the prayers, worries and cares.

Mothers today it is Mother’s Day in the UK and we know and remember how hard it is to be you on Earth today.

God loves our children.

The disciples got impatient with the mothers bringing their children to Jesus to be blessed. They told them to go away but Jesus interrupted and said: ‘Let the children come to me because children make up the kingdom of heaven.’ And he laid His hands on them with a blessing.

Our prayers for our children are significant. We need to continue to pray and work for the world’s children too.

It is said that it takes a village to raise a child and how true is that.

God bless our Mothers today.

The hyacinths in the garden before the wind blew them down.

The tortured willow branch among the daffidols.

Happy Mother’s Day

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
