Acorn,Oak and Harrow.

“The Earth belongs to God; all the lands and seas and life. Everything that God has created . “( Sandy’s understanding. We don’t know all the answers but I have this hope that one day “we will know as we are known .”)

Psalm 24:1, 1Corinthians 10: 26, 1Corinthians 13 : 12
From an ant whose world is beneath it lying in the debry of a tree
…to a surprised cat with the bird’s world beneath it!
(A branch
had torn itself off” from where it had started its growth to where it
held itself “trunked” in the ground. )
A truly painful sight. Was it bleeding? Was it crying for painkillers or was
everything really over.

Why would a tree do this to itself? Nothing looks rotten?

And everything continues…

Today a farmer was harrowing a field.
The smells of autumn are here.
The cycling was on paths with trees hanging low
For a few hours the handle bars fed the variations of the earth to our hands. (Cracks caused by drought and hardness through use.
Wetness and slip, where run off had occured)
It was a ride where the gentle warmth of the air passed over and lifted the soft hairs of your arms.
A pleasant time…
but there is a tree without a limb.

“The allotted function of art is not, as is often assumed , to put across ideas, to propagate thoughts , to serve as an example. The aim of art is to prepare a person for death , to plough, and harrow his soul, rending it capable of turning to good.”

Andrei Tarkovsky
(Soviet Russian1932 – Paris 1986. He was widely considered one of the greatest and most influential film makers of all time.)

“Enlightenment comes to even the dimmest. It begins around the eyes, and spreads outward from there – a sight that might tempt one to lie down under the harrow oneself.”

Franz Kafka( German speaking Bohemian 1883 Prague -1924 Austria. His work fuses elements of realism and the fantastic.)

“The life of the earth comes up with a rush in the spring time. All the wild seeds of weed and thistle , the sprouts of vine and bush and tree, are trying to take the fields. Farmers must fight them with harrow and plow and hoe; they must plant the good seeds quickly. “

Laura Ingalls Wilder (American 1867-1957 known for the “Little House on the Prairie)
Have a good weekend!
Sandy.
