Jesus says something about His relationship with God His Father. “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak to you are not of myself but the Father living in me, He does the works.” ( Jesus also says if you have seen me you have seen the Father. God and Jesus love us very much. โคSandy’s understanding.)
John 14 :10 (interesting chapter)
Sir Winston Churchill whose mother was American said this about America in 1943 :
“If we are together nothing is impossible. If we are divided all will fail.”
In 1955 he said again:
“Never be separated from the Americans”.
Winston Churchill
The story is that Winston’s son was using the ring of the front door handle for target practice when his father (Sir Winston) saw him he was so annoyed he took the pellet gun away and got most of his pellets in the centre of the circle. The door tells the story of a competitive father and son.
Winston after leaving school never went to university his grades were too low, instead he went to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He then travelled around the British Empire as a soldier and journalist. He was also an author winning the Nobel prize for literature in 1953 for his 6 volume History of World War ll.
At Chartwell he loved his butterfly walk where he grew plants to attract them, as well as having a butterfly house. When involved with the Boer war in Africa he says in his diary that he would take his net to spend time catching them.
The butterfly walk as it has been maintained with the following plants: Buddleia, Echinacea, Salvia, Sedum, Eryngium, Echinops, Helenium, Nepeta, Scabious and Verbena. The terrace overlooking vegetable gardens.Nets covering green veggies. The bees were on every flower and in great numbers today.
Encouraged by his wife Churchill took up painting. This helped a lot with his depression. His studio has a large collection of his paintings reflecting the many hours, in many countries he spent painting. Usually outside as he loved doing landscapes. He often finished them at home. He said that one day in heaven he would like to perfect his skill of painting. (My mum said she would like to sing in perfect harmony when she got to heaven.)

Some quotes from Churchill
The price of greatness is responsibility.
The father backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.
You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.
Winston Churchill. Prime Minister of the UK twice: 1940-1945 and 1951 -1955

Sandy, thank you for an interesting post on Churchill. It’s interesting that his grades had been poor yet he led the country and won a Nobel prize. And I enjoyed the contrast of a political, high profiled man loving the butterflies so much he invited them to a special garden.
Incredible life he had. I love all the interesting bits that make him into a real person and not just a politician- butterflies and painting.
Yes, I remember Mom and the singing๐. She always sang loudly in church and I wished she wouldnโt but now I wish I could hear her again. ๐ข
Yes how true about Mum. Yes Chartwell shows how much the family enjoyed nature. Take care sis and thank you for your kind comments. Add as much as you like . It makes things more interesting.๐
