The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.
Psalms 27 : 1
Only one small plant, originally a few roots with a couple of leaves and in time it has filled our small pond (they can grow from 3 to 12 feet wide and 6 inches high) with more than enough protection for the small fish underneath and a resting place for dragonflies on top. Only the Heron knows how tangled everything is under those floating lily pads. The water lily helps to keep the water clear by absorbing the nutrients from the water that would normally feed undesirable green plants. To the left of the flower you can see some of this unwanted plant material , where there is shade from the pad the algae doesn’t grow.
“Where Cezanne captured and intensified shards of the eternal (every pear far more sharply defined than it could be in life) , Monet portrayed the changeability and the flux of every moment. ‘ The Water Lilies’ give you a jittery, amorphous sense of a world seen at the speed of light.” Jerry Saltz

Water lilies are so sweet, open, and happy. Your photos are lovely, Sandy.
Thank you Mary. I didn’t see your comment where I normally do. So glad I did. If I have missed others this way sorry.
