Look for God, and His strength…remember His marvellous works that He has done.

Psalm 105 : 4,5 ( Sandy’s wording)

Variety is something to think about. Here is what Leonardo da Vinci said: “To such an extent does nature delight and abound in variety that among her trees there is not one plant to be found which is exactly like another, and not only among the boughs, the leaves and the fruits, you will not find one which is exactly similar to another.”

Narcissus papyraceus / paper – white daffodil.
This plant is native to the Mediterranean region.
The leaves supply the energy the plant needs to produce flowers during the next season so leave the leaves to die rather than cut them off.
Ours have been coming back year after year over many years.

Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications , offers an infinite variety of perception , interpretation and execution.

Ansel Adams. 1902- 1984 American photographer and environmentalist.

Edouard Manet was one of the first 19th century artists to paint modern life. He was a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impression. Here are some things Edouard Manet said about painting:

I paint what I see not what others like to see.

There are no lines in nature, only areas of colour, one against another.

One doesn’t paint a landscape, a seascape, a figure. One paints an impression of an hour of the day.

In April 1883 Edouard Manet had his left foot amputated because of gangrene caused by complications from syphilis and rheumatism . He died 11 days later in Paris.

The essence of the beautiful is unity in variety.

Felix Medelssohn 1809-1847 German composer, pianist, organist and conductor.

All variety of created objects which represent order and life in the universe could happen only by the willful reasoning of its original Creator, whom I call the ‘ Lord God’.
