And God said: ‘ Let the waters bring out moving creatures that have life. Birds to fly above the earth in the sky of heaven’… and God created the great whales, every living creature that moves…swims or flies…and God saw it was good and God blessed them to multiply well filling the waters and the earth. Genesis 1: 20 -23 (Sandy’s understanding)

Big wet snow flakes with more expected. Roy was working on getting rid of weeds on Monday.
It was all done just in time.
Today cardoon and daffidol
soldier on with tulip leaves.
All standing tall.

I looked at what was in
‘granny’s vase
which was then standing inside a tall well loved cylindrical glass vase.
Little glass vase
in
Large glass vase.
Much like us.
I then painted what I saw.
These are some words from Georgia O’Keeffe about how she felt about her painting:
I had to create an equivalent for what I felt about what I was looking at – not copy it.
To create one’s world in any of the arts takes courage.
I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life – and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.

One floret just opening to show the palest of pink skin tone.
A vulnerable colour.
All yesterday.
I often painted fragments of things because it seemed to make my statements as well as or better than the whole could.

She certainly captures the vibrance of flowers. I admire her work too. It wasn’t easy being a woman artist when she was but she really did wonders.
