Hyacinths in the garden

And the Lord God said to the Snake: ‘because you did this, you are cursed…’ and to the woman God said ‘ in sorrow you will give birth… to the man He said ‘the ground is cursed you will have to work hard to grow food’… to both people he said ‘you were made from dust and you will go back to dust.’

Genesis 3 : bits of Sandy’s understanding of 14, 16, 17. The whole chapter is interesting .

Not forced in forcing vases with roots in water.

Not a beautiful Christmas gift.

But struggling in the garden.

This is the hyacinth I showed a friend who then saw a critter .
I got rid of the critter
but
clearly there were more.

We struggle with complexities and avoid the simplicities.

Norman Vincent Peale. He was a Protestant American preacher and author of the book
‘The Power of Positive Thinking. ‘
My father left this book lying on a table in the lounge when we lived in Johannesburg and I read it all.
The slugs at work.

Listen to the cry of a woman in labour at the hour of giving birth- look at the dying man’s struggle at his last extremity, and then tell me whether something that begins and ends thus could be intended for enjoyment.

Soreness Kierkegaad ( Danish theologian, philosopher, poet, social critic.)
The sun shining through its linear leaves.
This spike of buds looks successful.

A journey is a person in itself, no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip, a trip takes us.

John Steinbeck 1902 – 1968 (American writer. )

I was interested to know that the hyacinth is native to the Eastern Meditterranean the southern half of Turkey’s main region Anatolia, its smaller Hatay Province, the Island of Cyprus, the Greek Dodecanese Islands, and the countries of Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

I now wonder why I make them struggling in my garden.

I think it would be interesting to end with some Turkish Proverbs:

Not knowing is not shameful, not asking is.

Ability has no school.

Thank you for looking at these struggling hyacinths.

  1. You just made me smile, thank you. I make a lot of illusions to my imaginary friend or guardian angel being a snake who I am coming realize I just saw wrong because they are really just a guardian angel, or spirit guide for non-christians sent to help find happiness in a world of darkness. I just had blurry vision and couldn’t see he was a guardian because I was a silly addict who was being selfish.

Anyway, what I meant is. Thank you, you helped me.

  2. Naughty slugs! We found a huge one in our garden yesterday. I suppose they have awaken after the cold winter Sandy🙈Hyacints are so lovely and they smell gorgeous Hope the next one will be safe☀️
