Ice and daffodil growth in the garden.

Grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Peter 3 : 18

At the end of November we planted Daffodil bulbs and their growth has been immediate and unexpected .

Bulbs too shallow?
Too cold and then really warm was that the reason?

Ice on their leaves today.

Viktor E. Frankley says ‘ Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.’

A patch of grass with Daffodil leaves. Bulbs planted 15 years ago.
There were only three bulbs planted here originally.
I know because I had a hard time pushing the circular metal pipe in three times to hollow the ground.
I guess there are 15 plants here now.

Plato said: “People are like dirt. They can either nourish you and help you grow as a person or they stunt your growth and make you wilt and die. ”

And Sandy says: ” Remember Sandy who you are, other people’s dirt.”

Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.

Albert Einstein
Ice broken from a bucket in the garden.

Here are some expressions:

Break the ice – start a conversation with a stranger

Cuts no ice – makes no difference ( used to warn someone not to break the rules)

Put on ice – stop or postpone an idea or project.

Ice in your veins.
A person who has ice in their veins is calm and controlled even when they are under a lot of pressure.

Stay warm and remember what Dr Seuss says : ” Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”

  1. I planted daffodil bulbs three years ago and I’m also excited when they begin sprouting up again (which they did this week!) They are such a lovely, delicate flower. I can hardly wait.
