By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the water is straitened…Do you know how the clouds are balanced? The wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge.
Job 37:10, 16 (In the natural world God has placed in the hands of us the key to unlock the treasure house of God’s Word..EG White) No matter what shape or size clouds are they are essential to life on earth. Clouds: 1) protect against the sun’s intense heat 2) a blanket at night to keep us from getting too cold 3) precipitation and signalling weather changes.
Rain, we have had a lot and now ice. Here are three windows into the frozen garden pond. Then a drainage pond in the meadow with a picture of part of the Popeswood meadow pond. All three ponds are mostly frozen solid.
Advice from a pond :
Be clear,
Look beneath the surface
Shore up friendships
Take time to reflect
‘Drop by drop it will make a pond.’ This is a Turkish proverb.
‘It is remarkable how long people will believe in the bottomlessness of a pond without taking the time to sound it out. ‘ So says Henry David Thoreau.
You never knew about people, like you never knew how deep a pond was because all you saw was the top.
Terry Pratchett.
Thank you for looking at these three ponds as I saw them today. At home and in the meadow.
Sandy 🙂
Such interesting and beautiful pictures, Sandy. Can’t wait to see the pink blossoms in the spring!
Thank you. Ah, I would love to show you! They come out in mass from such a broken tree.
Wow! Thank you for this peak into your world and the frozen ponds. I also really loved the Terry Pratchett quote.
Ah, Terry Pratchett made me think too. Yes the ice is still thick with no sunshine yet!
Oh my, it looks cold!
Yes, it has been been and still is even with no frost today.
Enjoyed looking through the ice with you😊. This quote is really good: ‘You never knew about people, like you never knew how deep a pond was because all you saw was the top.’
