Tortured willow and zebra rush with a short visit to Windsor.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ephesians 4 : 32
Tortured willow and straight green zebra rush.
Notice the spikelets on the ends of the rush.
The birds and small mammals love the seeds held in these.
Then there is the deep brown of the wet tortured willow leaves at the base of Ruth’s green pottery jug.

To put meaning in one’s life may end in madness, but life without meaning, is the torture of restlessness and vague desire – it is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid.

Edgar Lee Masters (1868 – 1950 American attorney, poet , biographer and dramatist. )

Guilt is a cancer. Guilt will confine you, torture you, destroy you as an artist. It is a thief.

David Grohl ( He believed he had done so much wrong he couldn’t be with God.)

It rained on the pond, it rained on the tulip bed, it rained on the roads through the great park to Windsor. It rained on old father Thames and it rained on the King’s swans.

The streets were quiet . The shops advertising sales their percentages competing – 60 percent off, 50 percent off … Even the new book Spare was £14 instead of £28.

Three well armed guards and a sign saying ” closed “. Then looking through the arch and in the distance is
Saint George’s Chapel
where
Queen Elizabeth rests with Philip
by her side.
A place where Harry and Meggan said their vows.

Oh stand, stand by me. Stand by me. Vows , in the presence of God and His people, this day forward; for better , for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God’s Holy Law.

Harry and Meggan’s vows
Then through this door on 9th April 2005 the then Prince Charles and Camila went.
No Queen .
This registery office,
the Windsor Guildhall
completed in 1690 and designed by Sir Thomas Fitch.
Here they said their vows.

Heavenly Father, we offer Thee our souls and bodies, our thoughts our words and deeds, our love for one another. Unite our wills in Thy will, that we may grow together in love and peace all the days of our life: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

The words of the then Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.
A day of rain.

Rain! whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones, and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains.

Henry Ward Beecher.

Thank you for experiencing this rainy time with us.

  2. It’s been a long time since I visited Windsor and great to see it once again through your lovely photos! I like the final quote about rain – I will stop bemoaning the current downpour and appreciate its gift! 😀
