Tortured willow and straight green zebra rush.
Notice the spikelets on the ends of the rush.
The birds and small mammals love the seeds held in these.
Then there is the deep brown of the wet tortured willow leaves at the base of Ruth’s green pottery jug.

To put meaning in one’s life may end in madness, but life without meaning, is the torture of restlessness and vague desire – it is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid.

It rained on the pond, it rained on the tulip bed, it rained on the roads through the great park to Windsor. It rained on old father Thames and it rained on the King’s swans.

  2. It’s been a long time since I visited Windsor and great to see it once again through your lovely photos! I like the final quote about rain – I will stop bemoaning the current downpour and appreciate its gift! 😀
