Let all of us choose to listen and then spend a bit of time to give an answer that does not include anger. People who say angry things have a difficult time working out the righteousness of God…. give time for God to graft into your mind what you read in the Bible. This can save you.

Did you know that according to A .Watts “there are two kinds of people, the prickly and the gooey.” Prickly people are ready to take offence while gooey ones are extremely sentimental and emotionally effusive.
I think gooey suits my desert choice and the other the frozen prickly pears mum used to provide in the summer. They fermented really quickly if left out. I don’t believe you A .Watt. I think there are many people quite able to be a little of both in a good way. However, I do agree with this statement of yours: ” Religion is not a department in life; it is something that enters into the whole of it.”
Then there is this expression “last ditch attempt“. I found out that it was originally used by King William III of England in the late 17th Century. He called upon all Englishmen to “fight and die in the last ditch” to defend England. (from Grammar Monster). Here are some other words for last ditch effort:
last chance only hope
last resort last shot
fall back recourse
Solid ice is now water .
I think there should be a third type of person. Not gooey, prickly but fluid.
This person experiences the world
rushing like water
sitting still like snow / ice
and everywhere and anywhere like steam.

Life is a spread of surprises and it is both a privilege and a challenge to respond to things and events, and find the right answers to prickly questions. In this process, however, it might be wise to change our perception and our way of looking at things, before changing the very things and altering the hallmark.

I love how you explore the world with images and words. Prickly. Gooey. Fluid. I think we can be all things given time. Sometimes we must be prickly for protection, gooey when holding a soft newborn, and always fluid to flow between all things. Lovely post.
