An apple, zinnia and home.

Give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love.

Psalm 107:31

We are born believing. A person bears beliefs as a tree bears apples.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
An Apple .
A Zinnia and Chrysanthemums.
All from the garden.

From under the apple tree big and fallen. The November apples have had all the sun and rain to make them really sweet and big. The wind has brought them down and as Jane Austin says ” Good apple pies are a considerable part of our domestic happiness.” Then Roy’s Yorkshire Grandma used to say ” An apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze.” The garden has provided our desert for the coming few days.

An apple tree is just like a person. In order to thrive they need companionship that’s similar to it in some ways but quite different than others.

Jeffrey Stepakoff

The fruit is what matters, not how gnarly or beautiful the apple tree is.

Aiden Wilson Tozer
Tosseled and ready to fall the pink Chrysanthemum petals with gentle shapes and fluffy yellow centers are
the garden’s autumn gift.
A Zinia with widely spaced petals of ‘yellowypinkpink’ hold onto their centre.
I think it is the last one from the garden 2022. The zinnia plants were a good buy after the hottest day in England. They have done so well.

Flowers are so restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflict.

Sigmund Freud

So pleased to be home. Thank you for looking at a few of the garden’s gifts.

  1. Glad you’re home safely. What an amazing few months you’ve had! Enjoy the apples – wish I could have some of your apple pie…. Beautiful post.

    1. Yes , thank you. They leave your mind a little different. It is apple crumble in the oven no time for making pastry and didn’t feel like going out to buy. Wish I could send you some. A big hug!!! Thank you so much for your comments it has been so much more enjoyable to have you part of the experience.🥰

    1. Ah, yes I think Roy is planning already. When I asked him why the hurry for the next covid jab his answer was we don’t want any bother for the next time we travel. We were so sad to hear of the mud slides on Isica sp?Italy.

      1. I was the one already planning the next trip, got that bucket list, you know?!! 😂 We were traveling when covid hit, we couldn’t get home because of some states not allowing people in/or travel through, it took us over a month to get home. Got our shot, left again, we didn’t want issues again either. Very sad to hear about the mud slides in Italy. 🙁

    1. Ah, life too shirt to worry about the treat. I read a good quote. It is not the spaghetti that makes you fat, it is how much you eat. Who said it I have forgotten. Wish I could send you some. Raking leaves soon so will find more apples.

      1. 😁💕🥰💗💖❤️I guess the crumble isn’t the most unhealthy treat. During the pandemic, I for a bit obsessed about trying our new cake recipes. I put on back the weight I had lost the year before, as I am sure quite a few people did during the lockdown. 🥰
