Its money came from the shipyards and steelworks.
A Friday market filled with produce carefully grown, picked, cleaned and displayed in colour and type perfect to look at. I wish I knew all the names. Perhaps you know them.
Some important people were born here besides Christopher Columbus. To the music world the most important is Niccolo Paganini. He was born here in 1782. He is the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time. An Italian violinist and composer who we say thank you to for leaving scores and now read and played by people like Maria Duenas. He lives on in the expressive playing of this young Spanish violinist born in 2002 when he died in 1840. This is the miracle and true beauty of art.
