Montesilvano , Pescara, Francavilla Al Mare

I will praise You for You have made me wonderfully and your works are marvellous …How precious are your thoughts to me, Oh God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them , they would outnumber the sand; when I awake , I am still with You.

Psalm 139 : 14, 17-18

All these towns have beaches, linked together. There are 20km of sand then from the water’s edge to 10m into the sea the depth of the water doesn’t exceed 1m. The beach season is from mid May to mid September. It is November and we were on the beach . The temperature at sunrise to midday varied from 17 to 25.

Sunrise over the beaches of Pescara.
The silver lining clear to see.

“Let the beauty of sunrise keep your heart warm.”
Lailah Gifty Akita

” A night can never defeat a sunrise.” Sumit Sharma

My son and I agreed to be up early enough to see the sun rise and we did. It was the start of a sunny, warm day. No Italians were lying on the beach like we did later, but from about 7am there were some taking early morning jogs on the soft yellow sand. We have left the chalk white sands further north with their small coves. Here it is flat and you can see for miles.

Heaven in a wild flower,

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,

And eternity in an hour. “

William Blake

“Put three grains of sand inside a vast cathedral, and the cathedral will be more closely packed with sand than space with stars.” James Jeans

Then on the evening before there was this sky to take in with such detailing of whispy grey and soft candyfloss pink. The moon, a full one, had started to rise in chalk white before going to rich gold.

A moon rise and…
…the sun setting on the wet beach of Pescara.
Don’t forget : “Beautiful sunsets need cloudy skies”
Paulo Coelho

“There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they are absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them.”

Jo Walton.

As Peter Hammill says …

“Actually I think Art lies in both directions – the broad strokes, big picture but on the other hand the minute examination of the apparently mundane. Seeing the whole world in a grain of sand, that kind of thing.”

Thank you for looking at sunrise , sand in the middle of the day and a sunset with us here in Pescara.

Sandy 🤣

  1. All so beautiful and poetic. Never heard those quotes about sand before, but they all make sense. Have a blessed rest of the week and thanks for sharing your interesting journeys with us. Dreaming under the sky. 💗🥰☺️
