San Marino is a microstate and amongst the world’s oldest republics. It is surrounded by North Central Italy. In the 1800s , the country took in many people persecuted for supporting the unification of Italy, and in 1862 a friendship treaty guaranteed its continuing independence from the Italian state. The Republic is 61km square.
Come inside this church built in 1836 . You will see his statue directly in front at the altar.
No matter how narrow and confined the streets or how little free land there is. I have noticed there is always place for a few pot plants or even a garden. Let me share these with you.
The movement up and down the steep streets carved into Mount Titano (739m high) makes many sit and rest before continuing with their shopping in well stocked shops.

San Marino looks like a place that was just made for exploring! Oh, if I could only make my own small garden as beautiful as the one in the photo of the path with pots. Thank you for sharing.
Yes it is that sort of place. One must have plenty of energy though. They love their pots. Sometimes their shape is enough and they don’t bother with the plant.
The church’s inside is amazing and beautiful! Love the pots with/without plants lining the streets, adds nature’s beauty in your passings-by. 🙂

The Basilica of Saint Marinus is simply stunning! It looks so overwhelmingly beautiful. I’m also fascinated by bell towers and that one looks so interesting.
