A Sabbath 5 mile circular walk: a short section of Kennet canal and Midgham Church.

Without faith it is impossible to please God, you must believe that He is, and He rewards those you look for Him with focus.

Hebrews 11:6 (Sandy’s understanding)
A red dirt path that follows the cannal, dry grass standing supported by a fence as a barrier to the green of a field.
No sign of drought
a bank to bank of water.
The Kennet Canal was built during the Napoleonic providing a safe route between London and Bath. It had its hey day between 1810 and 1840.
It is 87 miles long and passes through some spectacular landscape including Wiltshire and the gentle hills of the Cotswold.

Some water proverbs / sayings

“Gone water does not mill anymore.”

Means

You should not pay attention to what is in the past. Let bygones be bygones.

“Still water runs deep.”

The quiet people can be the smartest and wisest.

“The drop that makes a vase overflow.”

Something is no longer bearable.

Carp, chub, bream, roach and perch . A loan fisherman.
Then a long grassy stretch with cow’s and apple trees.

A sun drenched day with a September chill in the air. Thank you for lingering with us as we walked.

Sandy 😊
