Old tree , meadow and ‘weeds’

Timothy was brought up by his mum and granny. Paul writes about how Timothy’s knowledge of the scriptures would make him wise about salvation because evil people would become worse and worse in deceiving and he needed to preach God’s word instead of fables.

2 Timothy chapter 3 and 4 (both of these chapters are really interesting) The Bible.
This is what I first saw and these were my first thoughts. “They haven’t cleared the broken branches from the last bad storms we had ” and then I read the sign. I was completely wrong.

The senses deceive from time to time, and it is prudent never to trust wholly those who have deceived us even once.

Rene Descartes 1596-1650 French philosopher, scientist, Mathematician.
This tree is quite rare as it is a type of Horsechestnut which grows its branches so as to touch the ground and then from this to grow a new tree which turns into a circle of new trees around it. It looked a mess with all its leaves prematurely dropping and because you were kept away from it, it was difficult to see the individual trees. This is Keefs wood and is statutorily protected. Then the meadow opposite looked like any other, the grass long and yellow but…
…there was a green board.
Redlands Meadow 9.5 acres. A site of nature conservation importance. This is a rare unimproved wild flower grassland. 97% has been lost in England to development , plough, herbicides and fertilisers to improve grass yield.

It is looked after in the following way: mowed after plants have seeded, grazed by cattle until the ground is showing through and wet for the seeds to germinate. (Wild flowers need low nutrients and the cattle tear at a wide range of coars plants.) The trampling of the cattle expose the soil to the seed. A wild planting! Amongst the flowers are green winged and common orchids, yellow rattle, ragged robbin and meadow sweet.

You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you don’t trust enough.

Frank Crane 1861- 1928 minister, speaker and columnist.

At home the grass is yellow but there are bright green stalks coming out all over the place. They are growing rapidly. I think they may be Bristly Locust.

Bristly Locust? and then the wind fall apples. We have a lot to do.

The surest way to be deceived is to consider oneself cleverer than others.

Franchise de La Rochefoucauld French author and moralist 1613 – 1680
Still in some water today. The Zinnia, the Shasta daisy and echinacea.

It is very hot away from the sea and today we have a hose pipe ban. Have a blessed day. Sandy 🤗
